Final Preseason Press Release

The Dominion, House of Pain, Shock Syndicate, New School, and now The Amazing Mann.

With the influx of fighters who's motives can safely be deemed as "suspect" joining the aCe, forces like The Regulators, who have sworn to uphold justice, would certainly be outnumbered and overpowered in the new federation.

Holding out for various reasons, but prompted to swing the scales back towards the side of good, Shepard and Ventross have both decided to return to the ring.

Perhaps by chance, perhaps by the forces of fate, the two fighters met accidentally on their travels home from signing their new contracts. With similar concerns about the growing number of villains on the all-Centra entertainment roster, they put their heads together and discussed a potential alliance.

The always honorable Lance At-Las was contacted by Shepard at the suggestion of Ventross and asked to offer his views.

The trio believed that if they brought in a trustworthy tag team skilled enough to hold and defend the Essence Tag Titles, this super faction in the works could strengthen itself even further. The choice to invite The Archangels was unanimous.

The five men met at an undisclosed location for the first time one week prior to the opening of the new federation. During this meeting it was suggested that one more fighter be brought in to finalize the team.

Lance At-Las explained to the others that he was unable to convince Pendragon, the ROC commando and former Knight of the Family Rose to join the five heroes. The rookie fighter who aCe officials expect to be a massive homegrown superstar has opted to fight his battles alone.

Ventross elected Paganax as his choice to join their team as the final member. "Is there any tougher fighter in the Dimension than the Heathen Chief?" Ventross asked. But the rest of the heroic men present could not get past the fiery, unstable temperament of the Chief. Ventross would go on to extend the invitation to Paganax anyway. When the Ravager arrived on Primus to speak with the final Tribesman at his home, things took a turn for the worse. Paganax became quickly bothered by the offer and attacked Ventross. Things could have ended very badly but Ventross was able to stun the Chief with a nerve gun, giving him the chance to get back to his shuttle and leave Primus. It's evident that Paganax holds more hatred and anger in his heart than ever before. Even though he's now turned down two separate offers to join all-Centra entertainment, fans still remain hopeful they'll see Paganax in the aCe ring when the fed opens it's doors in only a few days.

Still looking to finalize this faction of super heroes, Lance At-Las suggested a fighter he has vouched for in the past: Aspin Northstar. Shepard, Ventross, Exodus, and Gabriel, finally sensing the true potential for Aspin to live up to the billing of the Soldier of Prophecy, agreed.

And with that was the formation of the strongest stable in the aCe. A team of heroes determined to protect one another, stand against other villainous factions and rogue forces, and most importantly, to make sure that the federation does not spiral down into darkness.

“Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, aliens of all ages…welcome to the most exciting extravaganza you will ever witness!

“Before your very eyes is the greatest escape artist in the Known Universe! And before your very eyes he will preform his greatest escape of all time!

“Watch as THE AMAZING MANN dares to defy the laws of physics!

“Watch as THE AMAZING MANN is bound by the wrists, sealed inside a Titanium sphere and flung into the depths of outer space!

“And then watch as THE AMAZING MANN escapes…into…ANOTHER DIMENSION!”

Then there was a sudden, startling pop as a humongous cannon, decorated from base to tip with sparkling banners and posters featuring the face of The Amazing Mann, fired its contents. Smoke leaked from the muzzle of the cannon as the crowd in attendance and the cameras capturing the event for the viewers at home turned their attention towards the stars. The sphere containing The Amazing Mann shrunk in size as it traveled further and further away from where it was launched. And then suddenly, there was a tiny flare-up, and the sphere was gone.

There was a gasp from the crowd followed by whispers and murmurs.

“He’s done it!” the barker exclaimed. “The Amazing Mann has successfully escaped the confines of Dimension K!”

And with that, the crowd burst into applause.

Sounds from Centra

Sound waves have been identified as originating from a deep pocket in the furthest regions of outer space.

These recordings are perhaps from another time...perhaps from another Dimension.

Listen...

  Special aCe Broadcast!

Strobe lights pulsed along with the pounding beats of hard rock music. The lights blinked at fast enough speeds to create a slow motion effect for the silhouetted figure that strutted out onto the grand balcony of the Centra Palladium.

The figure raised his hands and basked under the flashes of the hypnotizing strobe.  He pulled a microphone from a loop on his belt with the speed of the quickest drawing gunslinger in the known universe. At that familiar motion certain fans watching smiled with excitement as they were tickled with goosebumps. They recognized that motion. It was the trademark move of a fighter famous from his days in the Centra Wrestling Federation before the outbreak of the Holy War. The music slowly faded.

“Hit the lights!” the man on the stage ordered into the microphone and when the lights went up, those certain people watching got the confirmation they were hoping for.  “Guess who’s back, scumstains?”

Such a statement.  Such a look.  Such a swagger. It was none other than Nes Kincade.

“Ahhh,” Kincade said as he stretched out and looked around. “Now this is more like it! A federation based on in-ring skills and more importantly...on the art of entertainment.”

From behind the curtain, two figures seemed to be trying to step out onto the stage. After struggling for a few seconds, they found the opening in the thick curtain and finally stepped out to join Nes. More accurately, the bigger, hairier one was shoved through by the smaller, bald one.

The duo looked tough as nails and twice as ugly. Both sported fresh black eyes, bruises, welts, and scrapes.

Kincade looked the two up and down, chuckled, and then presented the duo to the crowd. “The Brothers Oaken, ladies and gents. Now show these funny looking bastards the proper respect or they’ll come right through your holovision set and pound it out of you! I swear to shit they will!”

Nes Kincade snagged the floating camera and held it to his face. He got his mouth so close to the lense, droplets of spittle splashed against it. “You’d better be clapping your hands right now for these two…and while you’re at it, keep it going for the number one PROFESSIONAL WRESTLER in the aCe…keep it going…for Avarice!”

With that, Nes let the flying camera go. After stabilizing the shakiness of the picture, the camera refocused itself on the Blackheart as he made his way onto the stage through the curtains. Cloaked in midnight black from head to toe, Avarice’s face remained hidden by his large hood.

“Do you scumstains watching understand what we’ve got right here,” Kincade grabbed Avarice’s shoulders from behind, “is the hottest damned thing in the business?”

Nes strolled over to the Brothers Oaken who stood still, doing nothing much but pounding their fists and snarling into the camera. He knelt in front of them. “Do you realize what you’ve got right here,” he asked as he pointed behind his back, “is the toughest twosome Centra will ever see? Nobody takes a lickin’ and keeps on tickin’ like these knuckleheads! Nobody!”

Nes stepped out in front of Avarice and The Brothers Oaken. “See, what you’ve got in front of you, aCe-holes…is the NEW SCHOOL. And if you couldn’t figure it out already…we’re taking over!”

Kincade again grabbed the floating camera and held it right in front of his face, creating a titled extreme close-up for the viewers at home.

            “Now…mark… the f**k… out!”

NEMEAN SHOW TRANSCRIPT - 4th Qtr 2122

Streams of neon light pour over every angle of an elaborate aCe studio stage. An orchestrated piece of synthesized music hits the speakers and out steps a character glistening from head to toe in sparkling costume. It’s Nemean.

NEMEAN: You want glitz? You want glamour? You want the best bit a’ programming this side of the missing Southern Sun? You got it right here, folks! Welcome…to the NEMEAN SHOW!”

Nemean looks off into the distance, soaking in the crowd response. Apparently not satisfied enough, Nemean motions for more noise with his hands as would a maestro. More crowd noise is pumped through the studio speakers. Nemean smiles and fully basks in the faux-cheers. At that, a large sign is lowered. It spells out “NEMEAN SHOW” in bright lights.

NEMEAN: You’re probably all wondering where I got the new threads.  (twirls around) Picked them up in Dimension K! And it’s your lucky day, because we’ve got some pics from my trip…

Slideshow images are projected onto the large holovid screen that hangs over the stage. Nemean looks up at the photos and comments on each.

NEMEAN: That’s me at the Gravity Ball Championship! VIP seats, of course…Oh and there I am at the POW show! Never got into the whole mixed-martial arts craze. Too afraid I’d permanently injure someone…Ah, here’s me on Deimos with GWF Commissioner Massif. The talent scouts wouldn’t leave me alone that day so I had to make like a banana and split before I got a chance to mingle with Monolith and the rest of the boys. Bummer, but hey, that’s showbiz, baby.

The images on the screen fade out, but Nemean isn’t finished yet.

NEMEAN: Yep the good ol’ GWF. And when I say ol’…I mean OLD. I heard they’re thinking of changing their name to Grandaddy’s Wrestlin’ Fed!

Canned laughter rushes in through the studio’s speakers.

NEMEAN: You’re too kind! And while we’re on the subject of the “Big League,” I’d might as well throw a bone to the “Little League.”  That’s right, while touring Dimension K, I was able to stop by a GWFZ event. After barely managing to beat away all the paparazzi I had a chance to chit-chat with a fellow superstar. I can’t even begin to tell you how much me and my new buddy have got in common.  Drive, mic skills, good looks…the list goes on and on. In fact, since he was nice enough to give me the tour of his fed, I told him I’d return the favor. So here he is, the second-best-up-and-coming star in the known universe…Totalis!

Dead silence…except a few chirping crickets and a single cough.

NEMEAN: Oh, right, you guys know him as something else. all Centra entertainment, I present to you...Totalis the Tournament Master!

Following the announcement and more canned applause, GWFZ star Totalis the Tournament Master steps through the curtain.

Nemean opens his arms, looking to embrace Totalis with a welcoming hug. The Tournament Master rudely declines.

NEMEAN: Hey, pal! You made it to the aCe! So what is it exactly that brings you here?

TOTALIS: Simple…the Centra Cup.

NEMEAN: Oh, right! The word is that the first card held under the banner of the new aCe will be the old CWF tradition…the tournament for the Centra Cup! They’re saying they might even crown the winner as the new aCe Essence Champion!

TOTALIS: Precisely.

NEMEAN: You know I’m signed up. But hey, to compete, you’ve gotta have an aCe contract…wait…are you saying that Totalis was offered an aCe contract? Excellent!

TOTALIS: The offer is excellent. But it actually should be higher if it’s to accurately reflect my ability to bring a new level of prestige to this measly “spin-off” federation.

NEMEAN: Well, the GWF writes big checks...even to the guys in the Z.  I could understand the logic in the aCe giving you a big signing bonus.

TOTALIS: No, that’s not it. It’s simpler than that actually. I am being paid more than you because I’m better. Better in every…single…way than you are. I’m better in the ring, I’m better on the mic, and better at entertaining these numbskulls in the audience.

Nemean frowns for a moment but then bursts into laughter.

NEMEAN: You’re a comedian too? So am I! Let me try this one out on you… a Ravager and a zombie walk into a bar…

TOTALIS: I’m not joking, you dunce.

The smile on Nemean's face slowly shrinks away.

NEMEAN: You’re not?

TOTALIS: Not at all. You’ll see first-hand how serious I am when we meet at the Centra Cup. Now let’s wrap this silly show up!

NEMEAN: OK…yeah…sure thing.

Nemean turns away discouraged as Totalis starts to make his way off-set.

NEMEAN: Hey, just one last thing…

Totalis pauses, obviously angered he turns around.

TOTALIS: This had better be good!

NEMEAN: I’ll let everyone watching be the judge of that!

Nemean winds up and slugs Totalis, sending him tumbling backwards into the NEMEAN SHOW sign!  Sparks fly behind Nemean as the camera zooms in on his huge grin.

NEMEAN: Man...I love this business!

…Fade to black…

AEGIS ANNOUNCES HIS RETIREMENT FROM IN-RING ACTION

Centrapolis, Centra Prime -- aCe legend Aegis has announced that he will not be signing the new aCe contract offered to him.

"With Trisis back home and healthy, and Murdok imprisoned, there is no more reason for me to continue fighting," said Aegis. "I will be pressed enough to find the time to take away from my wife to continue to assist the Ramparts of Centra in their defense of Centra Prime. We must never allow another Holy War to erupt."

Fans of Aegis and Trisis gathered en masse outside the ROC Headquarters in Centrapolis and a parade was thrown to honor a true hero of Centra lore.

"I will always remember and cherish the times I spent in the GWF. And I will always be haunted by the atrocities I did battle with in the aCe. Throughout my times in the ring, the support of my friend and fans has never wavered. And for that, I thank all of you...and bid you farewell."

SYNDICATE TECHNOLOGIES TO BE REPRESENTED IN THE aCe

Syndicate Building, Primus -- The spokespeople for Syndicate Tech. have announced that they have a strong interest in creating a small stable of fighters to represent them and their products and policies in the new all Centra entertainment federation.

With recent approval from the Great Alliance, both Holocaust and Flatliner have been taken out of storage and completely rewired. Their reprogramming has taken away any extra abilities and modified all their physical powers to no longer surpass humanoid limits.

Naturally, the Shock Syndicate has been elected to represent their parent company in the aCe. Syndicate Tech. proudly labels Holocaust and Flatliner as being the aCe's most "over" tag-team with the fans, an obvious bonus for any advertising plans the company has in store for the new federation.

HOLOCAUST          FLATLINER

In search of the biggest superstar that money could buy, the Syndicate has offered Primus native Paganax what is rumored to be the largest aCe contract yet. There has not been any reports on the response from Paganax.

All 3 members of the former adversaries for Centra’s essence faction known as the House or Pain were charged equally for their roles in the takeover of the City Prison in late 2121. Mr. Bloat, PainMaster, and Sycophant the Deviant each were accused by the city of Centrapolis of a myriad of crimes ranging from “inciting a riot” to “evil masterminding.” They were not however, charged with murder, attempted or otherwise. Out of all the violence that occurred when the prison was taken over that day, there was only one death, that of a convicted killer, when he attempted to attack a guard.

The judge and jury assigned to the Centrapolis v House of Pain trial were wooed by the skills of Putt Pettifog, Centra Prime’s biggest defense attorney. Pettifog represented the vile members of the House as if they were merely misguided celebrities, corrupted from the pressures of being members of the adversaries of Centra’s essence. There were even orchestrated protests held outside the courtroom during the trial. “Don’t be cruel to those who are unusual!” read a planted protestors sign.

When all was said and done, a deal was struck between Putt Pettifog and the judge. Bloat, Master, and the Deviant all would live behind bars until their time was served. However, in the meantime they would be allowed a work release program…into the new aCe.

PainMaster and Sycophant the Deviant would be placed in a medium level security prison to spend their days and nights while Mr. Bloat would head back into his isolated tank (submerged below water and void of light or sound), still sentenced to serve for his previous cold-blooded crimes. Perhaps the most interesting condition of the deal was that all monies earned from the aCe contracts offered to the House of Pain members would be donated to the Centrapolis Reconstruction Fund.

PAINMASTER       MR. BLOAT       SYCOPHANT

After hearing the news, Esperanto, Scorch, and Hustler were all presented with what were reported to be significantly large offers from all Centra entertainment. Some considered it a move by the new federation to cash in on the success of the Regulators vs. House of Pain blood feud from the old aCe…while some considered it a security precaution.

Even though it’s said that the House members will be led to the ring in shackles and immediately escorted out of the arena by armed guards following their matches, there are many that fear the villainous trio might be tempted to commit a potentially violent crime if allowed the chance…especially Mr. Bloat. The Regulators of the new aCe have sworn to never let that happen.
