THE COMIC BUG AND MORE! Los Angeles, California August 8, 2006!
The big day began with Tom meeting with Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee in Beverly Hills to discuss a series of books they will be publishing together. Also working with Stan and Tom on the project is POW! Entertainment's Gill Champion. The trio had lunch and plotted all kinds of mischief. Click on the photo for a bigger view!
Then it was off to The Comic Bug in Manhattan Beach for Tom's first Los Angeles-area appearance.
Tom (seated on couch) met with game fans and was grilled as always with questions about the future of the GWF. Our Fearless Leader was tight-lipped, but the gang still enjoyed conversation and laughs together.
Here are some of the loyal promoters that showed up for this memorable event (from left to right): Ray Grams, Chris Ledermuller, Tom, Dave Tugman, Grant Baciocco, and Ray Tugman. Click on the photo for a bigger view!
Javier Zuniga stopped by to say hi to Tom along with his daughter Michael and son Angel. It's entirely possible that big sister is tiring of Angel's antics!
Store owner Jun Goeku was a class act all the way. He posed with Tom's book and even bought pizza for COTG and LOW game fans. What a guy! Tom hopes to work with him again in the future.
Here's bootleg card art by Werner Mueck which features Tom as an evil owner. Now that's typecasting! Great job Werner.
Naturally there was a game tournament, this one featuring a BattleZone Match between GWF babyfaces and heels. The heels won thanks to Nosfera!
Tom's visit to Los Angeles would not have been possible (or if possible, a lot more difficult) if not for the support of his cousins, Constantinos (standing) and Chrysanthie Chamis. Tom's daughter Dana is sitting on his left. Oh heck, maybe Tom will even visit again sometime! And with more advance planning the possibilities are limitless...
